Billy Blanks Jr just kicked my butt

The First Workout Video I ever did (below)...sweet sweet memories! My brother and I were absolutely faithful to this video...well I will admit I was, I won't speak for him, LOL ( a little upset i can't find the whole thing on youtube. this is just the promo. Check the language though, "...forever, on cassette tape" too bad VHS cassettes from 87 are starting to disintegrate...lol)

I know that I've already blogged today, but I had to let you all know this: Billy Blanks, Jr. may be about sweet enough to put in some tea, but he sure does know how to make a workout DVD. I picked up the "Dance with Me: Groove and Burn" dvd ( i keep typing "video" and "tape" but I realize its 2011.) Anyway...It was actually a lot of fun and I am as TIRED as I can be. There are 3 routines; Disco, African and Latin...I loved it. All of the dances were a bit cheesy, and i am a little jealous of the way BBJ's hips move but a good workout. At the end of every routine there is a Cardio Toning Blast that is SERIOUS...legs, arms, and a weird jumping one...? Anyhoot, I would recommend.

By the last routine, I was ready to QUIT, but I DID NOT...it may seem very small, but it is a victory. DON'T QUIT even though you want to. You'll feel better about it later. The great and revered philosopher Jay-Z once said "...can't run from the pain, go towards it." He's right...the only way to begin your journey is to step into the unknown...go an extra 15 minutes, do just ONE more pushup, ONE more rep! Yes, it hurts, and you will be sore (as I am right now)  but as T.I. (is he in jail again? if so, may he rest well in his jail cell) said "you get courage from your fears right after you go through it" Think about it.

Tip of the day: Instead of that Ice Cream that you want to eat, try eating a sweet fruit like Mango. I just did it and it worked! I had the frozen mango chunks (i hate the word "chunks" it sounds so dirty) from Dole that come in the bag. Moderately expensive, but delicious!!!
